When you're comparing professional movers, the first decision is how much help you want. Whether you're planning a local move around Scranton or a long-distance relocation, here's a clear, no-pressure look at labor-only versus full-service moving — what each one really costs, and what you give up.

Signature Solutions is a labor-only company. You arrange the truck or container; we bring the team, the method and the care. Below is an honest account of why we think that's the better arrangement for most moves — and where full-service genuinely does suit somebody better.

Labor-Only Moving

With labor-only, you provide the truck, trailer, or moving container — a rental truck, a PODS unit, a U-Pack trailer — and we provide the muscle and the method. Our team loads, unloads, stacks the truck properly, and places everything where it goes.

It's a great fit when:

• You already have (or want to rent) your own truck or container.
• You're doing a partial move, a dorm or apartment, or just need heavy items handled.
• You want the lowest-cost professional option and don't mind arranging transport.

It Costs Less, and the Saving Isn't Small

A full-service move is typically around double the labor-only price for the same home, because you're paying for the truck, its fuel, its insurance and the driver's time on the road as well as the lifting. Renting the truck yourself moves that cost from a mover's margin to a rental counter, where it is usually a fraction of the difference. For most local moves, that is the single biggest lever on the final bill.

Your Belongings Stay With You the Whole Way

This is the part people tend to appreciate only afterwards. With labor-only, everything you own stays in a vehicle you are driving. Nothing is transferred to a warehouse, nothing shares a trailer with somebody else's furniture, and nothing is out of your sight between the two addresses. You set off when you're ready and you arrive when you arrive.

If something matters enough that you'd want it on the seat beside you, labor-only means it can be.

Full-Service Moving

With full-service, the company brings everything — truck, equipment, blankets and team — and handles the move door to door. You point to where it goes and they do the rest. We don't offer full-service, so what follows is simply a fair description of the alternative.

It genuinely suits somebody when:

• Driving a rental truck isn't realistic — a long-distance move, a health reason, no second driver.
• Nobody involved can be present on moving day at all.
• Convenience matters more than cost, and the premium is worth paying.

What you're accepting in exchange: roughly twice the price, a delivery window rather than a time, and a period where your belongings are in someone else's vehicle — sometimes alongside another household's, sometimes via a depot.

If you'd rather hand over the driving as well, a full-service company is the right call — we'd sooner say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
